Catherine graduated from the University of Toronto in 1970. She then had a varied career in theatre and teaching. While working at the National Ballet School, she obtained her Ontario teaching certificate and in 1987, obtained a position in the Toronto District School Board at Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute, just as it was making the transition from Overlea Secondary. She taught English and Drama there until her retirement in 2010. Since retirement, Catherine has been pursuing a professional voice over acting career. While volunteering at AMI, a reading service for the visually impaired, she met Dawn Dickinson and then became involved with the Alumni Association. Since 2013, she has been the Secretary of the alumni and continues to work on the annual scholarship awards.
“From the moment I began working at the school, I knew it was a special place because of its staff’s extraordinary dedication to the welfare and success of its diverse and deserving student population. I joined the board of the Alumni Association to help continue that legacy.” – Catherine
