Anisah Patel

TREASURER

Anisah graduated from Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute in 2000 and has very fond memories of her time at the school. This is where she discovered her passion and interest in numbers and accounting. Upon graduating, she entered the workforce and began working full-time in the telecommunications and financial services industry. In 2006, she landed a job with Canada Revenue Agency that reawakened her desire to pursue post-secondary studies. She graduated with honours from Seneca College’s Accounting program and completed CGA Foundation Studies by April 2010.

Anisah is currently an Auditor at Toronto Community Housing Corporation, the largest social housing provider in Canada and the second largest in North America. TCHC is wholly owned by the City of Toronto and operates in a non-profit manner. Prior to this, she was a Compliance Inspector at Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry and was responsible for administering and enforcing the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act (MVDA), its regulations and Code of Ethics, as well as relevant sections of the Consumer Protection Act, on behalf of Ontario’s Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (MGCS). Anisah has 20+ years of experience working in the public and non-profit sector serving the healthcare, financial and regulatory industries.

Outside of work, Anisah enjoys spending her time with nature and loved ones over a nice cup of coffee sharing knowledge and stories about life experiences. She has been with the Alumni Association since 2008 serving as Treasurer and has been a valuable member of the team.

“I am honoured and privileged to be a part of the Alumni; giving back to the school that once gave to me and a place I called home brings me great joy and happiness. I always refer to my high school days as the best time of my life and for that I will be forever grateful.” – Anisah

“It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer”
